The suspect, who was not named and has not been arraigned, was arrested Friday, according to a news release sent Saturday from the St. Clair Shores police and St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office.
The dismembered remains, found in rural parts of St. Clair and China townships northwest of Detroit, were identified by the FBI through fingerprints as belonging to the suspect’s 32 year old son, a St. Clair Shores man, who was reported missing Sunday, the release said. His name is being withheld pending notification of family.
Police had been searching for a heavy set, middle aged white woman, who was seen dumping garbage from her SUV in that area Thursday.

After arresting the suspect, investigators from both departments searched two locations in St. Clair Shores, one in the 22000 block of Rosedale and another in the 23000 block of Gary Lane, rayban police said.
“The Michigan State Police Crime Lab assisted investigators processing the residences for evidence associated with the homicide and dismemberment of the 32 year old male,” the statement said, noting that rayban the evidence has been taken to the Michigan State Police crime lab in Sterling Heights.
The suspect is being held at the St. Clair Shores Police Department, pending a review of a warrant request Monday by the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, police said.
